About the Bootcamp
Mrs. Omaima Ahmed Al-Saad
Today, the transmission and promotion of culture is no longer confined to traditional products and practices as we’ve known for centuries. Instead, it has evolved in tandem with modern technology and the contemporary individual’s increasing reliance on technological tools in all aspects of daily life—including entertainment.
Electronic or video games have become one of the most influential entertainment mediums, entering every household and digital device. These games carry within them a variety of cultures, values, and knowledge that are reinforced through play. The formats of these games now range from recreational to educational and even simulate virtual reality.
In light of this, we all have an important and essential role in advancing our Arab, Islamic, and local culture by supporting this type of digital and creative industry. By doing so, we empower our talented youth to leave their unique imprint—one that reflects their identity—in the realm of electronic game development.
